I am a Christian, wife, mom and a “Neena” to two beautiful grandsons! I love beautifully detailed children's apparel made with love and with the distinctive hand touches of smocking, embroidery and sweet pleats. For me, fashion is art, and the artist in me loves to create & design sewing patterns and unique hand & machine embroideries. My first love is for Hand Smocking & Heirloom Sewing, and I love sharing these techniques by instruction.  Southern Stitches is dedicated to fostering the Art of Fine Heirloom Sewing, Smocking and related Needle Arts thru online tutorials.
